Insect Taxidermy Guideline
1. Unpack your specimen from the Insect Taxidermy package
insect specimen, frame, pins, pinning board, forceps
2. Preparing Relaxing Chamber
Pour warm water carefully into an empty container.
Lay couple sheets of paper towel in there.
Drain any runny water from the container.
3. Relaxing Specimens
Place your wrapped specimen into the container and wait for 12-24 hours.
4. Pinning Specimens
Remove your specimen from the wrap, and carefully try to pull joints (legs) around.
If joints move freely enough to make a posture, it is good to go.
If not, place it back into the container, and wait another couple hours.
Place multiple pins around the body to hold it onto the pinning board provided.
Carefully pull joints and place pins around and crossing over the joints to hold legs into a position however you would like it to be. Start from close to the body to far out.
Carefully pull the antennae out and pin around it too.
5. Completion
Store your pinned specimens in a shade with a regular ventilation for 3-4 weeks
Carefully remove pins and glue the specimens onto a backboard of the frame.
