REPTIST
The Encounter of Korean Traditional Art,
Digital Art, and Biology

LEADING ARTIST: JONGWON BAE
Since childhood, Jongwon has loved both living creatures and traditional Korean painting. After graduating from Gwangju Arts High School and majoring in Korean Painting at Hannam University, he sought to combine the beauty of nature—especially biological forms—with the aesthetics of Korean tradition.
Deeply fascinated by reptiles, particularly Crested Geckos, Jongwon was captivated by their unique shapes, patterns, and colors. In 2022, he began expressing these reptiles through digital reinterpretations of Korean folk painting, beginning his artistic journey under the name Reptist.
Through his work, Jongwon aims to become an artist who introduces both Korean Minhwa and reptiles to a broader audience—bridging two seemingly distant worlds through art, life, and imagination.

REPTIST
aims to share its unique artistic vision with you
