Origin: Florida, USA, Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola Size: 18 mm (0.17") Rarity Level: ★★★ Description: Spotted whip scorpion grows only up about an inch, but can be very fast in movement. It has eight legs, of which six being used to walk around sideway, just like a crab, and the first two are considered as sensory organs to detect prey and navigate their surroundings. They are not venomous, but they can pinch pedipalps and a pair of smaller chelicerae to hunt down prey.

They can lay about 12 to 20 eggs in each time, takes about 3 months to hatch, and are being carried by mothers for about 10 days until they reach a first molting period. About two years since hatch, they reach adulthood, and they can live about two to three more years since then.

Since they can be very fast, it is difficult to handle with hands if you keep live ones in captivity.
